Directions to Madison UMC:
Madison UMC is at the south end of town on Bus. 29. Take Virginia Route 29 North from Ruckersville, to Fairground Road, turn left. Bear right onto Main Street. The church is on the right in 1/4 mile.

Take Virginia Route 29 South from Culpeper, turn right on Business Route 29 (North Main Street). Follow through to the south end of town. The church is on the left at 505 South Main Street.

Directions to Rose Park UMC:
Take Virginia Highway 29 North to VA Highway 230 (Wolftown-Hood Road). Turn left in 4 miles onto Route 662, Shelby Road. The church will be on your right.

From Madison, take Virginia Highway 29 South to Route 230 (Wolftown-Hood Road). Turn right after 4 miles. Turn left onto Route 662, Shelby Road.

Meet Our Pastor:

The Rev. Elizabeth (Liz) Petry is a Licensed Local Pastor in the Virginia Conference, and is currently working towards completing the required Course of Study through Candler School of Theology, Emory University in Atlanta, GA.

Prior to her calling as a pastor, Liz just retired from teaching in Virginia Public Schools for the past twenty-five years. She taught in Greensville County Public Schools, Brunswick County Public Schools, Suffolk City Schools, and Charlottesville City Schools where she served as a music teacher, reading specialist, gifted education specialist, and most recently a STEM educator. Liz also serves as a master teacher for Virginia Space Grant Consortium through which she teaches high school sophomores around the Commonwealth of Virginia for an online course which is followed by a special week sponsored at Wallops Flight Facility on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Liz was married to Rev. Lowell D. Petry for 43 years prior to his passing in 2020 from cancer. She has three sons, Gabriel, Alex, and Elliott who are happily married to Cathy, Carmen, and Jessica, respectively. Additionally, Liz is blessed with seven beautiful grandchildren: Kenneth, Elizabeth, Isabelle, Noah, Gordon, Clarke, and Grayson.  Liz’s hobbies include walking, playing the piano, reading, and gardening.
